Pterosaur!
(from October 20 to November 20, 2004)

Before man
the Earth was ruled by different creatures...
Our next challenge is to model,
texture, pose and render a pterosaur! According
to the BBC's Science
and Nature Homepage a pterosaur is a flying prehistoric creature
(pterosaur literally means flying reptile) as
opposed to a dinosaur, which is a landbased prehistoric creature.
The pterosaur is a collective name
for a large group of flying reptiles ranging from the size of
a sparrow to the size of an airplane. They ruled the skies in
the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, and included the largest
vertebrate ever known to fly: the late Cretaceous Quetzalcoatlus.
The challenge involves modeling,
texturing, lighting and rendering a scene with a flying
pterosaur of your choice. All Cinema plugins inculding xfrog is
ok to use as are commercial textures, but no models that you haven't
done yourself.
