Yourself
as a 3D Caricature!
(from May 28th 2005 to June 28th, 2005)

Charles Philipon, The Metamorphosis of
King Louis-Philippe into a Pear (1831)
Show us
your true self!
The challenge this time is courtsey
of miketche and we are to do a 3D caricature of ourselves. The
fine art of caricature was born during the Renaissance and in
essence it's based on a strong emphasis of the individual. We
want you to show us how you (or others) perceive yourself. Feel
free to exaggerate and twist, the caricature has no problem being
larger than life! Use whatever technique you see fit to give yourself
life on the 3D canvas - boxmodeling, poly by poly, spline lofting,
etc. And remember that a caricature doesn't have to be mean :)
The challenge involves modeling,
texturing, lighting and rendering a scene of yourself
as a caricature. It can be a headshot or a full figure. All Cinema
plugins are OK to use, as are commercial textures, but no models
that you haven't done yourself.
It's not necessary but it would
be cool if you could post a picture of yourself as well as the
final entry so we have something to compare with.
A couple of things to keep
in mind:
Upload your entry (image and information)
in the Cinema
4D forum (use the following message title: "My entry to the
challenge"). After approval they will be included in this gallery.
The members of the Cinema 4D forum will then vote for the winning
entry.
Only one entry per member.
