HDRI's
Bryce 6.0 uses HDRI's (High Dynamic Range Images) in what is called the spherical/probe/mirror ball format only.

A Latitude/Longitude Format The Spherical/Probe/Mirror Ball Format
If you have an HDRI that is in another panoramical format, it will need to be converted with HDRShop.
Here is the HDRShop tutorial page on how to covert various hdr's to the Spherical/Probe/Mirror Ball Format. Pretty easy process.
Paul Debevec
His main page - The original website for all things HDRI. Tons of reading material here. (along with images and video)
Download HDRShop program (freeware) You'll need this for HDRI Format converting. (Panoramic Transformations)
Download HDRView utility (freeware) This is a simple standalone executable. I associated the .hdr files on my PC to this, for very quick viewing of .hdr's.
Older Debevec HDRI's (already in spherical/probe format)
Newer Debevec HDRI's - Higher resolution, will need to be converted to Spherical/Probe/Mirror Ball format for use in Bryce 6.
Photograhic HDRI's
HDRI Maps : 3 sample hdr's. Use their "Sphere" format for Bryce 6. (it will be inside the downloadable zip files)
Aversis Digital Creations : Quickie hdr's. Click on the very small thumbnails beside "Select HDRI", 10 in all. These need no conversion.
Sachform : 4 sample hdr's. They're watermarked and require a name and e-mail to download. Sachform makes some of the best retail HDRI's around.
3D Weave : 63 hdr's. Taken in the area of Venice.
Non-Photograhic HDRI's (2D & 3D created)
Evermotion : 36 HDRI's - 4000x2000 - Wide open skies - 3D created
Digitalin : 58 HDRI's - Small and fast chrome effect images, great for that "photography studio" look. - 512x256 - 2D created.
Photograhic LDRI's (Low Dynamic Range Image)
These are links to .jpg's that, in a pinch, could be synthetically turned into a hdr for use in Bryce 6, or just used on a large sphere to fake an HDRI effect.
4Pi : 13 Great LDRI's.
LW-FIN : 3 very nice LDRI's.
